Governor Josh Stein has announced the appointment of Tron Ross to the District Court for Judicial District 29, which covers Hoke and Moore Counties. This decision fills the vacancy left by the Honorable Warren McSweeney, who was recently elected to the Superior Court.

Tron Ross brings experience from her most recent role as an Associate County Attorney at the Moore County Attorney’s Office. Previously, she served as an attorney at the Lee County Department of Social Services. Ross holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Governor Stein commented on the appointment, saying, “Tron has a strong record of serving North Carolina’s children and families. As an experienced Moore County attorney, she is the right person for the job, and I look forward to her service as judge.”
