The 2026 Toyota Crown has been unveiled by Toyota, with the automaker describing it as a "unique offering" that balances elements of sedans and crossover SUVs. According to Toyota, the vehicle will feature a "coupe-like roofline and higher ride height."
The new Toyota Crown will be offered in four grades: XLE, Limited, Nightshade, and Platinum. It will be exclusively available in all-wheel drive, with two hybrid powertrain options: the Toyota Hybrid System (THS) and Hybrid MAX. The THS pairs a 2.5-liter engine with two electric motors, achieving an EPA-estimated 41 MPG combined, while the Hybrid MAX is available on the Platinum grade and includes a 2.4-liter turbo engine generating 340 horsepower.
As described by Toyota, "the Crown offers advanced technology and is efficient yet powerful with its two distinct hybrid powertrain options."
The Crown's suspension system consists of various components that aim to provide a smooth ride. These include a MacPherson strut in the front and multi-link rear suspension, standard on the Nightshade, Limited, and XLE trims, with Adaptive Variable Suspension standard on the Platinum. "Toyota engineers wanted to help ensure confident handling and a great driving performance," the company stated.
Safety and technology features include Toyota's Safety Sense 3.0, with functions like the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Alert. The Platinum grade offers additional features such as Advanced Park and Traffic Jam Assist.
Inside, the Crown offers comfort and convenience, including heated and ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with Toyota Audio Multimedia. The Toyota Audio Multimedia system supports "over-the-air updates" and offers voice activation through commands like "Hey Toyota."
Toyota's limited warranty covers the vehicle for 36 months or 36,000 miles, with the hybrid-related components covered for eight years or 100,000 miles. The 2025 Toyota Crown also includes ToyotaCare, covering scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles.
The vehicle is part of Toyota's wider commitment to "advancing sustainable, next-generation mobility," as outlined by the automaker.
