Red Hat, Inc., a leading open source solutions provider, has announced enhancements to its Red Hat Developer Hub. The latest updates aim to promote adoption across organizations and offer a customized experience to enhance developer efficiency. According to Balaji Sivasubramanian, senior director of Developer Tools at Red Hat, "The latest features in Red Hat Developer Hub are designed to not only help organizations increase adoption and efficiency, but also allow for a more tailored portal, providing developers direct access to the tools, templates and components they need to drive innovation."
For organizations developing complex AI-enabled and edge applications, internal developer portals are increasingly critical. These portals help reduce complexity and harness developer skills to boost productivity. Sivasubramanian noted, "As organizations turn to intelligent applications to gain a competitive advantage, streamlining development processes and maximizing productivity is imperative to getting these applications into production faster."
A key feature now included in Red Hat Developer Hub is Adoption Insights, an analytical dashboard that highlights how development teams utilize the Hub. This tool, intended to improve the developer experience, is available as a developer preview. Insights provided by the dashboard help teams to identify success areas and understand improvement needs, further driving adoption and engagement.
The Red Hat Developer Hub Extensions Catalog now offers more than 60 dynamic plugins. This enables organizations to tailor tools to their needs. Users can manage plugins, including custom ones, dynamically at runtime. Additionally, RHDH Local, a locally runnable version of the Hub, allows engineers to quickly make portal changes with reduced cycle time. This tool facilitates working on templates and testing plugins without a full Kubernetes cluster setup.
Red Hat Developer Hub 1.5 is now generally available. The company will continue to expand the capabilities of its developer tools in line with technological advancements and organizational needs.
