The recent international window brought notable performances from North Carolina Courage players representing their national teams.
Manaka Matsukubo played a key role for Japan in the SheBelieves Cup, where they secured their first title with a 2-1 victory over the United States. Matsukubo appeared as a substitute in all three matches, marking her senior national team debut against Australia. Her performance was particularly significant in the match against the U.S., where she faced her new Courage teammate Jaedyn Shaw.
Jaedyn Shaw also participated in the SheBelieves Cup, contributing significantly to the United States' win over Australia. Shaw assisted on Lynn Biyendolo's opening goal and delivered eight key passes during the match. U.S. Women's National Team Head Coach Emma Hayes praised Shaw's performance and versatility, stating, "I thought Jaedyn played really well... It was high-level technical execution from her."
Denise O’Sullivan excelled for Ireland in their UEFA Women’s Nations League opener against Türkiye, earning Sky Ireland Player of the Match honors. Courage Head Coach Sean Nahas commented on her performance: “She trains each day like it’s a game... This is NO surprise to us that she was at a different level.”
Feli Rauch reached a milestone with Germany by earning her 50th cap during their UEFA Women’s Nations League matches. Rauch contributed to Germany's draw against the Netherlands and victory over Austria.
Aline Gomes joined Brazil for a training camp aimed at preparing for upcoming friendlies and Copa América Femenina.
The Courage players are set to return to Cary for NWSL preseason preparations ahead of their season opener against Racing Louisville on March 15.
