The North Carolina Courage have finalized a deal with the Kansas City Current, acquiring $50,000 in intra-league transfer funds. In return, forward Haley Hopkins will join the Kansas City team.

Haley Hopkins was initially picked by the Courage as the 11th overall selection in the 2023 NWSL Draft from the University of Virginia. During her time with the Courage, she participated in 36 regular season games, scoring four goals and providing two assists over 1,896 minutes on the field. Additionally, Hopkins contributed three goals and three assists across ten cup competition appearances. Her efforts were instrumental in helping the Courage win the 2023 NWSL Challenge Cup and reach the semifinals of the 2024 NWSLxLiga MX Femenil Summer Cup.

Courage Head Coach Sean Nahas expressed gratitude for Hopkins' contributions to the team: “We cannot thank Haley enough for her time, energy and commitment to her teammates, staff, and club. In her two years here, she helped lay the foundation for the forward direction we are going. We always talk about leaving a mark, and Haley did just that. We wish her all the best and much success on this new journey in Kansas City.”

Currently, North Carolina Courage has 34 players attending preseason camp. Of these players, 28 are under contract with 27 listed as active.
