The North Carolina State Highway Patrol aims to maintain its national accreditation through the Commission on Law Enforcement for Accreditation (CALEA). As part of the process, residents of North Carolina have the opportunity to provide feedback via the CALEA portal.

The public portal's purpose is to receive feedback regarding the patrol's compliance with CALEA standards, involvement in community services, and public safety services. Comments may include recommendations, commendations, or concerns. The accreditation process aims to support continuous improvement and professional excellence.

CALEA is not an investigative body, so the public portal should not be used to submit information for such purposes. Feedback submitted through the portal will receive acknowledgment but will not prompt further response. However, the feedback will be considered in the context relevant to CALEA standards and principles.

For standard titles, refer to CALEA's portal: Law Enforcement – Standards Titles | CALEA | The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. Any questions related to the accreditation process can be directed to Michelle Partin, Accreditation Manager, via email.
