Governor Josh Stein has announced the nomination of Stephanie Brennan to serve as a Special Superior Court judge, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Hon. Louis A. Bledsoe, III. Brennan currently holds the position of Special Deputy Attorney General and Section Head for Special Litigation at the North Carolina Department of Justice. She has an academic background, holding a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.

Governor Stein expressed his confidence in Brennan's abilities, stating, "Stephanie is an exceptional litigator, and I witnessed her legal acumen and leadership firsthand during my time as Attorney General. She is committed to excellence and fairness, and I look forward to her service on the court."

This nomination is subject to confirmation by the General Assembly, which is required to pass a joint resolution for the appointment to be finalized.
