Toyota Connected North America (TCNA) has announced significant executive changes effective April 1, 2025. James George, currently serving as executive vice president and deputy chief executive officer, will be promoted to president and CEO of TCNA. He will succeed Christopher Yang in this role.

In his current position, George has been instrumental in shaping the strategy for TCNA's function as a software center of excellence. He is also a member of the board of directors at TCNA. Before this, he served as deputy COO from 2019 to 2021.

George joined Toyota in 2007 and has since held various roles within the organization focused on strategic planning, research, marketing, and leadership. Alongside his new role at TCNA, he will continue to work with Toyota Motor North America as general manager of Enterprise Strategy and Solutions under Christopher Yang.

Christopher Yang expressed confidence in George's appointment by stating: “James is the ideal leader to succeed me in this role. He has been a part of TCNA’s journey since 2019. His experience and accomplishments during his tenure give me the utmost confidence in his ability to continue leading TCNA’s evolution.”

Yang will transition into a senior advisor position while also joining the board for TCNA. Additionally, he takes on the role of senior vice president for Enterprise Strategy and Solutions at Toyota Motor North America. This position involves guiding strategy development as Toyota shifts towards becoming a mobility company. Furthermore, Yang assumes responsibilities as deputy chief compliance officer and deputy chief risk officer for Toyota Motor Corporation.

Toyota Connected North America was established in Plano, Texas in 2016 with an aim to contribute toward Toyota's vision for an intelligent mobile society through innovation and software development.
