North Carolina reports highest flu deaths since 2017-2018; media session scheduled

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has updated its weekly Respiratory Virus Summary Dashboard, revealing an increase in flu-related deaths. The total number of deaths reported this season has reached 362, marking the highest number since the 2017-2018 flu season.

To discuss these trends, NCDHHS State Epidemiologist Zack Moore, M.D., MPH will be available for a media session. This virtual availability is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, from 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
