StarHub, a leading telecommunications service provider in Singapore, has announced the implementation of its hybrid multi-cloud solution, Cloud Infinity. This initiative is built on Red Hat OpenShift, a prominent hybrid cloud application platform powered by Kubernetes. The move aims to optimize costs, meet compliance requirements, and maintain operational control while enhancing customer experiences through new services.

Cloud Infinity is designed to deliver digital platforms and services using cloud-native and AI-enabled technologies. Red Hat OpenShift offers a scalable and reliable platform trusted across the telecommunications industry. This allows StarHub to use a common foundation across various cloud environments, enhancing technical and business flexibility.

The benefits of this hybrid cloud solution include continuous integration, delivery and testing (CI/CD/CT), improved security throughout the stack, control over cloud usage with flexible options for private or public clouds, integration of DevSecOps processes with machine learning operations (MLOps), and cost-optimized delivery of new services for better user experience.

StarHub's focus extends beyond modernizing legacy systems to advancing autonomous intelligent networks for enhanced customer experience and future hyper-personalization. The company plans to deepen its collaboration with Red Hat as a managed services partner to deliver regional services like private 5G.

Ben Panic from Red Hat expressed excitement about supporting StarHub's modernization journey: "We're excited to support StarHub in their journey to modernize their hybrid multi-cloud infrastructure with Red Hat OpenShift."

Ayush Sharma from StarHub highlighted the transformation success: "We are proud and privileged to have the opportunity to successfully transform StarHub's infrastructure by porting our mobile...onto the 'Cloud Infinity' infrastructure."

Khai Peng Loh from Hewlett Packard Enterprise stated: "HPE is honored to collaborate with Red Hat...By leveraging our strengths in delivering hybrid cloud solutions...we are pleased to help enable the convergence of IT, telco and enterprise workloads."

Mu Ji from Whale Cloud added: “Whale Cloud enables StarHub to harness the power of the cloud for telecommunications use cases.”

This collaboration solidifies Red Hat OpenShift as StarHub’s preferred reference platform for accelerating hybrid cloud transformation.
