County of Wake issued the following announcement on Apr. 11.
Songbird Celebration is Blue Jay Point County Park's annual event celebrating the return of migratory songbirds and in honor of World Migratory Bird Day, on Saturday, April 23. This year we're having a mini-event to celebrate!
This year we are observing the World Migratory Bird Day theme, “Dim the Lights for Birds at Night,” spotlighting the impacts of light pollution on migratory birds and providing ways that people can reduce light pollution at home, in their neighborhoods and in their communities. Come see how we incorporate that theme as you enjoy bird-related activities, crafts and games at the park. This is a great, all-outdoor outing for individuals, families, scouts and other youth groups. This is a free, family-friendly event for a fun day. Space is limited, so register early.
