The N.C. Plant Conservation Board is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The gathering will focus on topics concerning land conservation, stewardship efforts of the N.C. Plant Conservation Program, and regulatory matters.

The N.C. Plant Conservation Program is tasked with developing regulations, as well as voluntary programs and cooperative partnerships aimed at protecting imperiled species and their habitats. The program oversees the listing of North Carolina’s endangered, threatened, and special concern plant species. It also develops conservation programs to ensure their permanent protection. Strategies such as acquiring and managing important plant sites and habitats are employed to support and maintain native plants and ecosystems.
