Yeadon Fabric Domes, LLC, a company specializing in air-supported structures, is set to create 72 new jobs in Cumberland County with a $4.6 million investment for a new manufacturing facility in Fayetteville. Governor Josh Stein announced the development and welcomed the company's expansion into North Carolina.

"We are delighted to welcome Yeadon Fabric Domes to Cumberland County," said Governor Stein. "Our manufacturing leadership and textile legacy woven with our strategic location and excellent quality of life will continue to attract innovative, global companies to our great state."

The Minnesota-based Yeadon Fabric Domes designs and manufactures climate-controlled domed structures used for various sporting venues. The company plans to construct its own 72-foot-tall dome within a 50,000-square-foot production site at the Fayetteville Regional Airport.

"Yeadon Domes is thrilled to be expanding our operations to Fayetteville," said Matt Mejia, CEO of Yeadon Fabric Domes. "Throughout the process, it has become clear that Fayetteville is the perfect place to build our manufacturing facility and continue producing world-class air-supported domes."

N.C. Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley emphasized North Carolina's appeal as a business-friendly state: "Yeadon Fabric Domes will benefit from a friendly business environment, a world-class workforce, and a rewarding lifestyle in Cumberland County."

The average annual salary for the new positions will be $47,734, surpassing the county average of $47,175. This could lead to an annual payroll impact exceeding $3.4 million.

A performance-based grant of $225,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will assist Yeadon's relocation efforts. This fund aids local governments in attracting economic investments by providing financial assistance contingent on job creation and capital investment targets being met.

"We welcome Yeadon Fabric Domes and its investment to our region," stated N.C. Senator Val Applewhite. "They will greatly benefit from our transitioning military families which offer a uniquely skilled and prepared workforce."

"This is a great win for Cumberland County and the entire state," added N.C. Representative Diane Wheatley.

Key partners involved include the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, North Carolina General Assembly, North Carolina Community College System, Cumberland County authorities, City of Fayetteville officials, and the Fayetteville Cumberland County Economic Development Corporation.
