Red Hat, Inc., a leading provider of open source solutions, announced a collaboration with Rakuten Mobile and Rakuten Symphony. This partnership will provide access to Red Hat's expertise and technology to enhance customer experience and innovate telecommunications services.
Rakuten Mobile plans to utilize Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Real Time in its fully virtualized end-to-end cloud-native network. The collaboration aims to improve the platforms and solutions offered by Rakuten Symphony, a global provider of cloud-native open RAN infrastructure. Additionally, Red Hat will support Rakuten Cloud in certifying its Cloud-Native Storage on Red Hat OpenShift for better integration with Kubernetes-native tools.
The use of Red Hat Enterprise Linux is expected to help Rakuten Mobile and Rakuten Symphony advance initiatives like open RAN, private 5G partnerships, and satellite-enabled LTE connectivity. These efforts aim to redefine connectivity and expand access to remote areas.
