Governor Josh Stein has announced a series of appointments to various boards and commissions.

Kindl S. Detar from Mecklenburg has been appointed as the Governor’s Office Designee to the MyFutureNC Board of Directors. Detar currently serves as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Governor Josh Stein. Her previous role was as Special Deputy Attorney General & Director of the Public Protection Section for the North Carolina Department of Justice.

The Honorable James Beaty, Jr., hailing from Forsyth, has been named a Public Member of the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. Beaty Jr. is a retired United States District Court Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina and remains active in his community through roles such as serving on the Board of Deacons at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. He is also an active member of the North Carolina Chapter of the National Association of Guardsmen.

Professor Srinath Ekkad from Wake has been appointed to represent the Engineering School of the UNC System on the State Board of Refrigeration Contractors. Ekkad is currently the Department Head of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering and serves as Special Advisor to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation at North Carolina State University, bringing over 25 years of experience in research, teaching, and administration.
