The North Carolina Courage soccer team has been actively contributing to the community through a partnership with Bartol Hoile Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. For every goal scored by the Courage at their home venue, WakeMed Soccer Park, $200 is donated to LEAD Girls of North Carolina. This initiative has been ongoing for several seasons.

Joy Nelson Thomas, Founder and Executive Director of LEAD Girls of NC, expressed gratitude for this collaboration: “This partnership allows us to dream. Bartol Hoile have been partners of ours for the past three years and it allows us to continue to do the work that we do in Title One schools as well as our Community LEAD program."

In the recent regular season, 22 goals were scored at home by the Courage, leading Bartol Hoile Wealth Management to round up their donation to $5,000. The funds support LEAD Girls' mission of empowering middle school girls by providing them with resources that align with their potential.

Alex Bartol emphasized the significance of this partnership: “This partnership with NC Courage and LEAD Girls is very important to Alex and me because we really believe in paying it forward." He noted that supporting girls in their community is a way to reciprocate the help they received in their careers.

LEAD Girls stands for "Learning Everyday Accomplishing Dreams" and aims to equip preteen girls with tools necessary for leadership roles within their communities. Co-founder Hoile added: “We believe everybody has a talent and a skillset. If we can remove some of the barriers to allow that to rise to the top, we believe that will benefit everybody.”

At the last home game of the season, LEAD Girls was presented with a check from Bartol Hoile Wealth Management Group. This event also provided an opportunity for many girls involved with LEAD Girls to attend and enjoy the game while seeing role models on the field.

Nelson Thomas highlighted this experience's impact: “You can’t be what you can’t see and to see other women on this field just shows our girls that they can do anything."

Further details about LEAD Girls’ programs or information on volunteering and donations are available on their website.
