The North Carolina Courage is set to break its regular season attendance record this Saturday, October 12, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. when they face Angel City FC. The tickets distributed for the upcoming match will push the total attendance for the year past the previous record of 70,496 fans set in 2019. As of now, the club is 4,686 attendees short of reaching this milestone.

After achieving a single-match attendance record during the 2023 season finale, the Courage began their 2024 season with a strong turnout, setting a home-opener attendance record of 5,878. The team has maintained momentum throughout the season, drawing crowds exceeding 6,000 on four occasions and twice ranking among the top five single-game attendances with numbers surpassing 8,000. The average attendance per match stands at 5,967 over 11 matches—on track to be the highest in club history.

Courage President Francie Gottsegen commented on the support from fans: “Our supporters have been fantastic all year and have helped create an exciting game atmosphere. Our undefeated home record this season is largely due to the energy behind our team on the field. We’ve seen the game environment drastically improve throughout the season, a testament to our community growing with us. This is strong momentum to build upon through the rest of this season, into 2025, and beyond.”

Chief Operating Officer Ralph Vuono reflected on changes made by the organization: “We’re seeing lagging indicators that our process is working. We’ve overhauled aspects of our ticketing strategy, market outreach, and game environment over the year, and it’s rewarding for our whole club – players, coaches, and staff – to see the results. We’re proud of our accomplishments so far, but this is only motivation to work harder to continuously strive to be a best-in-class organization that makes our community proud.”

To mark this achievement, a prize pack will be awarded to a lucky supporter passing through the gates on Saturday—a milestone moment for North Carolina Courage in 2024. Tickets are still available for those who wish to participate in celebrating this historic event.
