Town of Holly Springs issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.

Thanks to the help of the Holly Springs Fire Department, Santa Claus is coming to a neighborhood street near you. Even if Santa is not in your neighborhood, your kids can follow his progress each night through Holly Springs on our specially created Santa Tracker. This top secret technology allows kids in Holly Springs to track the big guy in real time!

Beginning Dec. 8 and continuing weeknights through the middle of the month, Santa is hopping on a float and being towed through town behind the Fire Department’s brush truck. Fire engines also will be joining Santa’s tour through town, so if you hear a siren or see some lights, you’ll know Santa is getting close! Visit our webpage, www.hollyspringsnc.gov/HollyDayExpress, to see when the jolly man in red is coming through your neighborhood!

Each day’s route begins at 5:30 p.m. While estimated times are listed on the maps, please allow 10-15 minutes before and after the estimated time due to unexpected circumstances.

As Santa drives past, stay off the road. Please do not approach the vehicle; Santa cannot stop. While waiting, please practice social distancing. Wear a facial covering if you cannot maintain 6 feet of distance from non-household members.

If possible, please walk to the route. If you must drive and park along a street, do not park in cul-de-sacs or intersections. Please allow plenty of space for our firetruck to pass through; do not park on the opposite side of the street from another parked vehicle.

On rainy days, Santa may postpone his scheduled visit to a makeup day. This decision will be made by 5 p.m. each weekday and will be posted on the Holly Springs Fire Department Facebook page and our website.
