Town of Holly Springs issued the following announcement on Mar. 26.
Wake County Issues Stay At Home Order to Fight Spread of COVID-19
The Town of Holly Springs asks all residents to abide by Wake County’s new Stay at Home Order to slow the spread of COVID-19. The order begins Friday, March 27 at 5 p.m. and requires Wake County residents to stay at home and limit excursions outside of their homes beyond allowable essential business services listed in the County’s Proclamation of Emergency Restrictions. The proclamation requires the closure of all non-essential facilities, services, operations and retail businesses. The proclamation also prohibits gatherings of any number of people occurring outside a single household. In light of the order, Holly Springs is closing all athletic fields and courts. Wake County’s Stay at Home Order is effective until April 16.
Government service delivery is exempt from the Stay at Home Order. Town services will still continue. If you have any questions about town services, call the main number at (919) 552-6221. This number will forward your call to employees from key departments who can answer your specific questions during business hours. Questions or guidance for allowable business activity can be answered by Wake County at (919) 856-7420.
"These restrictions require a lot of sacrifice from our community, but they are necessary to limit the spread of COVID-19," said Holly Springs Mayor Dick Sears. "Myself and other Wake County mayors will continue to review, evaluate and engage the county on these current measures, particularly the no mass gathering restrictions to assess its appropriateness and need."
