People interested in agritourism activities across North Carolina can now use the Visit NC Farms website to find statewide listings. The new platform replaces the previous mobile app, aiming to improve access for both visitors and farms.

The website, visitncfarms.com, allows users to search for information about farm-related events and activities or for farms to list their own offerings. According to Erica Calderon, agritourism marketing specialist, “Interest in agritourism continues to grow and visitors have even more options today. Visit NC Farms has always been about connecting people to the food, farms and communities that make North Carolina unique, and we hope visitors will check out the new website when they are looking to make plans.”

Launched as a mobile app in 2018, Visit NC Farms connected residents and tourists with local farms, farmers markets, food experiences, and other agritourism destinations. The transition to a website is expected to further increase awareness of these opportunities throughout the state.

The new site features nine category filters—such as farm visits, u-pick events, farm stays, farmers markets, trails, workshops, sips + bites, and special events—to help users find specific experiences easily.

Calderon said that other benefits include free listings for businesses and event hosts. This opens participation statewide without cost barriers. The site is accessible on any device without requiring a download. Farms and organizers can also update their listings quickly through visitncfarms.com so that information remains current throughout the year. Additional resources are available for agribusinesses seeking support in listing or promoting seasonal events.

“The app gave us a strong start, and now the website allows us to take that mission even further,” Calderon said.

This move highlights the ongoing commitment of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) toward supporting agritourism and marketing local agricultural businesses. The updated platform maintains its original goal while expanding opportunities for more farms to share their stories with a wider audience.
