Tuskegee University has announced a multi-year project to upgrade its campus security using Honeywell’s AI-enabled smart access technology. The initiative aims to enhance safety for students, faculty, staff, and visitors by deploying a fully integrated security system across the university.

The new system will use Honeywell’s commercial security solutions to provide centralized access control and real-time monitoring. These features are expected to improve incident response times and simplify operations for campus security teams. This move comes as colleges across the country face increasing demands to strengthen their security measures and adopt advanced technologies.

Tuskegee University will also implement several of Honeywell’s Building Automation solutions as part of the upgrade.

Jeff Stanek, president of Security and Access Solutions for Honeywell Building Automation, said: “We’re proud to help Tuskegee University create a safer and more responsive environment for faculty and students. Together, we’re helping deliver an adaptive system including AI-enabled technology that helps give campus leaders the confidence and control to meet evolving security demands.”

Dr. Mark A. Brown, President and CEO of Tuskegee University, stated: “One way that we put ‘Students First’ is through using the latest technical tools to help ensure their safety and security. Supporting this is our partnership with Honeywell, which helped us transform the campus experience by integrating state-of-the-art technology to support ongoing enhancements for our students, faculty and staff. The work they have performed supports the technical component of the Renaissance Era that the university has entered. It also aligns with our plans to modernize the campus in a variety of ways but continuing the Students First focus.”
