Toyota has announced the introduction of a new color, Wave Maker, for its 2026 TRD Pro models. This color will be available on the TRD Pro versions of the 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia. The new models are expected to arrive at dealerships in fall 2025.

The color Wave Maker is described as a striking shade of blue that aims to make a bold statement. It was developed by Toyota’s CALTY Design team and reflects an artistic vision coupled with innovation.

Benjamin Jimenez, general manager at CALTY’s Ann Arbor location, explained the inspiration behind this color: “We had a few years of warm natural hues inspired by traditional landscapes like Terra and Mudbath as signature colors. With Wave Maker, we were inspired by unexplored areas of adventure including extreme territory and even beyond earth.” He added that “Wave Maker expresses an elemental spirit that evokes images of glacial depths and the thrill of new frontiers.”

Wave Maker is part of a tradition of unique TRD Pro colors that began in 2015 with Inferno. The company states it was immediately popular and became a tradition worth continuing.

Toyota has been active in the U.S. market for nearly 70 years and employs about 48,000 people across its operations. In spring 2025, Toyota’s North Carolina plant will begin manufacturing automotive batteries for electrified vehicles. Currently offering 32 electrified options, Toyota leads with more electrified vehicles on the road than any other automaker.
