The Corolla Hatchback is set to receive a new addition for the 2026 model year with the introduction of the FX Edition. Inspired by the legendary FX16, this special edition aims to combine nostalgic elements with modern features.

The FX Edition, based on the SE grade, includes a black vented sport wing and 18-inch gloss white-finished alloy wheels with black lug nuts. A rear badge harks back to the original FX16 from the 1980s. The vehicle is powered by a 2.0-liter Dynamic-Force direct-injection inline four-cylinder engine that produces 169 horsepower and has a manufacturer-estimated combined fuel economy rating of 33 MPG.

Inside, the Corolla Hatchback FX features black Sport Touring Seats with suede inserts and orange stitching, extending to other interior elements like door panels and steering wheel. It comes equipped with a standard 7-inch digital gauge cluster and wireless charging capabilities.

Three color options will be available: Inferno, Ice Cap, and Blue Crush Metallic. Only 1,600 units are expected to be produced for the U.S., arriving at dealerships in fall 2025.

Technological offerings include an 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system that supports dual Bluetooth connectivity and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A Wi-Fi Connect trial offers connectivity for up to five devices.

Safety features in the Corolla Hatchback FX Edition include Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite components such as Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, among others.

Toyota’s warranty covers various components under different terms while offering ToyotaCare for maintenance needs over two years or up to 25,000 miles.

Toyota has been operating in the U.S. for nearly seven decades and employs around 48,000 people across its facilities in the country. It plans to manufacture automotive batteries at its North Carolina plant starting spring 2025 as part of its commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.
