The Toyota bZ4X battery electric vehicle (BEV) was recently transformed into a unique piece of art on wheels by three artists from different parts of the United States. These artists, hailing from Boston, Massachusetts; Portland, Oregon; and Reno, Nevada, each created murals in their hometowns, which were then used to wrap the bZ4X vehicles. The art-infused vehicles were showcased during the prestigious Art Week event in Miami, Florida.

The artists behind these creative works are Boston's Sophy Tuttle, Portland's Blaine Fontana, and Reno's Erik T. Burke. Their mural concepts were inspired by the distinctive elements of their hometowns and reflect the modern look of the Toyota bZ4X.

Owen Peacock, general manager of Toyota Vehicle and Marketing Communications, commented, "At Toyota we believe that creativity and the arts are essential for building strong communities. We’re thrilled that the bZ4X could play a part in these artists’ expression of what their hometown means to them and the role that electrified mobility plays today and tomorrow."

In Boston, artist Sophy Tuttle drew inspiration from her city and the curves of the bZ4X to create a composition that includes circular elements and features native species from Massachusetts. In Reno, Erik T. Burke crafted a mural using the shape of the bZ4X, highlighting natural elements with bright, warm colors designed to evoke the sense of electricity. In Portland, Blaine Fontana developed a mural with a vibrant 3D style that complements the car’s contours, incorporating organic, natural images from the Pacific Northwest.

The bZ4X mural project is part of Toyota’s ongoing commitment to sustainable, next-generation mobility and creativity in community engagement. More than just showcasing art, it highlights Toyota's role in innovative automotive design and sustainable transportation.
