Duke Energy Ohio President Lynn J. Good | Duke Energy Ohio
Harry Sideris has taken over as CEO of Duke Energy and joined the company's board of directors. This transition follows a planned announcement made earlier in the year. Sideris, who became president of Duke Energy in April 2024, succeeds Lynn Good. Good is retiring after more than 20 years with the company, including nearly 12 years as CEO.
"I am honored to step into this role at such a pivotal time for our industry," Sideris said. "Thanks to Lynn’s leadership, Duke Energy has become an industry-leading, fully regulated utility that is ideally positioned to seize the opportunities in front of us. I am excited to lead us into our next chapter of growth and advance our mission of delivering reliable, affordable and innovative energy solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers and communities."
As CEO, Sideris will oversee an $83-billion five-year capital plan focused on shaping Duke Energy's future. His priorities include infrastructure investments for economic development and meeting customers' energy needs. Safety, operational excellence, shareholder value, and customer service remain central under his leadership.
With 29 years at Duke Energy, Sideris has been part of the senior management committee. As president, he led the electric and gas utilities and customer services. Previously, he has held roles such as executive vice president of customer experience, solutions and services, and president of Duke Energy Florida, among others. His career started at Progress Energy before its merger with Duke Energy in 2012.
Sideris will also serve on the boards of the Edison Electric Institute, the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, and the World Association of Nuclear Operators. Additionally, he will join the Business Roundtable and Charlotte Executive Leadership Council.
Alongside Sideris's new role, Ted Craver has been appointed chair of Duke Energy’s board of directors, effective April 1. Craver has been a board member since 2017 and is the former chairman, president, and CEO of Edison International.
