Red Hat, Inc. has announced the availability of its Ansible Automation Platform Service on Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a managed offering in the AWS Marketplace. This new service aims to simplify the management of hybrid cloud infrastructure for customers by streamlining complex tasks and offering more flexibility in deploying Red Hat’s open technologies both on-premises and on AWS.
Mat Jovanovic, corporate cloud strategy director at Mapfre, stated, "With Ansible Automation Platform Service on AWS, we can quickly deliver robust automation solutions to our mutual customers and further accelerate the adoption, development and deployment of mission-critical automation across all enterprise segments."
The platform addresses the growing complexity in hybrid cloud environments and artificial intelligence (AI), providing a management strategy that can be executed at scale with speed and standardization. It is designed to help IT teams start automating from day one without needing to learn new tools or integrate additional technologies.
Sathish Balakrishnan, vice president and general manager of Ansible at Red Hat, emphasized the importance of automation: “Businesses can only achieve their goals if automation is viewed as essential to the enterprise IT strategy. But to perform automation as a true, mission-critical IT strategy, there needs to be a capable and broadly available platform that unifies and propels continuous innovation."
David Tapper from IDC highlighted the value of managed services: “Driving value by providing managed services is not just about focusing on cloud capabilities... It is also about supporting the shift in provisioning services for enterprises from a 'parts-centric approach'...to a 'system-centric approach'."
Scott Kinane from Kyndryl noted that their customers are adopting automation strategically: “Our customers are adopting automation as a strategic imperative... With Ansible Automation Platform Service on AWS, we can quickly deliver robust automation solutions."
Red Hat offers both managed and self-managed options for this platform on AWS. The self-managed option allows for greater customization suitable for regulated industries requiring enhanced security. The Red Hat-managed solution provides premium support allowing organizations to focus more on innovation rather than managing the platform.
Ansible Automation Platform supports operations across complex hybrid clouds including AI applications at scale. Its presence in AWS Marketplace aligns with Red Hat's goal to offer common IT automation solutions across major cloud providers.
Mat Jovanovic added insight into their use case: “We use Ansible Automation Platform and native services mostly in AWS... combining the two gives us the flexibility to cover a huge spectrum of automation organization processes."
The service is now generally available in AWS Marketplace.
