TOWN OF CARY: Cary eBike Pilot Program Allows Temporary Use of Electric Assisted Bicycles on Greenways

Town of Cary issued the following announcement on July 25.

While a local ordinance currently bans the use of motorized vehicles on greenways, Cary has received requests from its citizens to allow the use of eBikes.

In response, the newly launched Cary eBike Pilot Program allows the temporary use of electric-assisted bicycles on greenways.

As always, please be safe and know the rules of use:

Always travel at a safe speed! (15mph speed limit)

Must be pedaling to engage motor

Walkers and runners have right of way

 Announce yourself when passing

 Keep right/pass on left

For more information, please visit townofcary.org/bikecary

If you are a current greenway user, please visit caryebikepilot.com to tell us what you think.
