Town of Apex issued the following announcement on July 29.
After gathering data and conducting observations since July 7th, Town of Apex staff have recommended against all-way stop control at the intersection of Salem Street and Chatham Street, and requested that NCDOT restore traffic signal operations.
NCDOT will end the 30-day test early, based on this feedback.
Within the next few days, you can expect to see:
- Removal of the stop signs from the overhead lines
- Removal of covers from the pedestrian signals
- Reactivation of the traffic signal and pedestrian signals to their normal state
