Town of Apex issued the following announcement on Jul. 23.
Garbage and recycling collection days will change for about half of Apex residents, beginning the week of August 2nd. GFL, the town’s contractor for garbage and recycling collection, is updating routes to rebalance their schedules and increase efficiency
Yard waste will now run on a new pattern for all residents (even if your garbage day doesn’t change). Yard waste will be collected on the business day following garbage and recycling collection. For example, if your garbage and recycling is collected on Tuesdays, yard waste will now be collected on Wednesdays.

GFL will notify customers by mail if their collection day is changing. Keep an eye out for the official notice of your collection day change.
