Town of Rolesville issued the following announcement on Jul. 23.
Design work on the Main Street grant project is nearing completion. Rolesville was awarded over $4.8m in federal funds to realign the Burlington Mills Road intersection with Main Street, and to make streetscape improvements, improve crosswalks, and install new curb and gutter, sidewalks, and bicycle transportation enhancements from Burlington Mills Road to Young Street. This project is a realization of the vision established by the Town with overwhelming community support to create a destination and promote walkability, bike-ability and downtown beautification.
Already, as a result of the project, Cobblestone Crossing is partnering with the Town to build a new $55 million mixed-use Town Center development at the intersection of Young and Main St., and a Charlotte-based developer, Crosland Southeast, known for innovative, attractive shopping and dining offerings, is proposing a $75 million development at the southern end of Main Street.
