The NC IDEA said that it will support "entrepreneurial ambition and economic empowerment" in the Tar Heel state through its 2020 grant cycle.
The private foundation's fall campaign will continue with remote information sessions on Tuesday, Aug. 4, and Wednesday, Aug. 5, according to the organization's website. The sessions will allow participants to learn more about the grant opportunities and also how to craft an application for seed money.
For those who cannot make any of the online sessions, the organization said it is offering virtual office hours. The grant application process is already open and closes on Monday, Aug. 31.
The Durham-based foundation offers two types of grants. One is for small projects that are a maximum of $10,000. These NC IDEA MICRO grant applicants can receive funding based on a project to prove their concept, the foundation said. Companies in the early stage can apply for a $50,000 NC IDEA SEED grant. This particular funding is for a start-up that has proof of concept.
