Rolesville policymakers released plans to deal with the area's rapid growth that includes updating its land use and development regulations and enhancing transportation services.

Officials outlined the efforts, which are known as Rolesville Next and Rolesville Moves, in a the Rolesville Chamber of Commerce email newsletter to subscribers on July 2.

Rolesville Next, which relates to the town's unified development ordinance, will focus on parking, signs, open space, development and zoning issues, the town posted to a web page dedicated to the Next and Moves plans. Officials are targeting 2021 to complete the updates.

"These requirements address specific topics and standards ranging from review procedures and zoning districts to development standards and definitions," officials said in the newsletter.

Rolesville Moves will serve as the town's outline to improve its transportation over the next 25 years and is expected to be completed by the end of this year, according to the website page.

"The [Community Transportation Plan] will help us coordinate with future development, establish policies and programs, and get projects funded," officials said in the newsletter. "Transportation is an important part of our daily life in Rolesville, it affects how we move through the area and how we experience our town.
