Town of Fuquay-Varina Projects

Fleming Loop Park

Construction is complete on improvements to Fleming Loop Park and the park is now open, located at 503 Fleming Loop Road. The site includes soccer fields, a playground, a shelter, trails, and 314 parking spaces on 33.80 acres.

Fuquay-Varina Police Department

Renovations are underway for the new Fuquay-Varina Police Department facility, located at 401 Old Honeycutt Road. The site includes a 15,298 square foot building on a 5.9-acre lot and previously served as Town Hall.

Non-Residential Site Plan Projects

1301 N. Main Street Commercial

Construction is underway for a commercial building, located at 1301 N Main Street (Hwy 401). The site includes a 5,856 square foot dental/office building with 39 parking spaces on 0.74 acres.

8250 Fayetteville Road Retail

A site plan is in review for a retail building, to be located at 8250 Fayetteville Road. The site includes a 9,450 square foot building with 51 parking spaces on 1.43 acres.

Attain Street Office Building

Construction of the first building is complete for offices, located at 400 and 404 Attain Street. The site includes two office buildings totaling 30,000 square feet with 116 parking spaces on 1.84 acres.

Bengal Towne Centre    

Construction of townhomes is underway for Bengal Towne Centre, an 18.48-acre form-based development located at 1000 NE Judd Parkway near the intersection with Stewart Street. The development features 13 tracts to be developed for a variety of uses such as office, commercial, mixed-use, apartments, and civic space. Additionally, the plans include infrastructure and 53 townhomes. A site plan is in review for Lot 4, which includes an 110,000 square foot, mixed-use, four-story building with 97 parking spaces on 1.27 acres. Construction is underway for Bengal Towne Center Lot 5, located at 1200 Galt Avenue ,for a 4,460 square foot Montessori School with 37 parking spaces on 0.45 acres.

Bent Tree Amenity Center

Construction is underway for an amenity center in the Bent Tree Subdivision. The amenity site features a mailbox kiosk, 19 parking spaces, a pool, and pool house on 1.64 acres.

Century Fields Cricket Field

Construction is underway for Century Fields Cricket Field, located at 7720, 7712 and 7700 Barefoot Road. The proposed athletic fields will include two (2) cricket fields, a multi-purpose field and a parking lot on 14.91 acres.

CrossFit Shoofly

A site plan has been approved for a commercial property which includes CrossFit Shoofly, located at 808, 810, and 812 Durham Street. The site includes a 13,000 square foot building with 50 parking spaces on 1.13 acres.

Culvers Restaurant

Construction is underway for Culvers Restaurant, to be located at 1860 Cinema Drive. The site includes a 4,330 square foot restaurant with 57 parking spaces on 1.33 acres.

Destination Community Church of God

Construction is underway for Destination Community Church of God, located at 611 Holland Road. The site includes a 12,000 square foot building on 2.63 acres.

East of Broad

Construction plans are in review for the placement of infrastructure at East of Broad, to be located at 1900 &1924 N Broad Street. This form based development will include 5 commercial lots and 0.55 acres of civic space on 8.533 acres.

Faulkner Business Center

A site plan is in review for Faulkner Business Center, to be located at 2431 Waco Commercial Court. The site will include a 10,000 square foot warehouse building with 24 parking spaces on 1.84 acres.

Flagship Medical

Construction is underway for Flagship Medical, located at 1617 N Main Street (Hwy 401). The site includes a 5,000 square foot office building with 73 parking spaces on 1.75 acres.

Fuquay-Varina High School

Construction is underway for a major renovation of Fuquay-Varina High School. A combination of renovation and new construction will result in a 291,398 square foot facility with capacity for 2,350 students, a greenhouse, improved vehicular circulation, and increased parking.

Fuquay Wade Nash Substation

Construction is nearly complete for Fuquay Wade Nash 115kv Substation, located at 4821 Wade Nash Road, near the intersection of N Broad Street and Wade Nash Road. The site is 23.24 acres.

Herbert Akins Middle School

A site plan is in review for Herbert Akins Middle School, to be located at 2255 Herbert Akins Road. The school will be a part of the Wake County Public School System and includes a 166,315 square foot main building, 735 square foot accessory building and athletic fields on the 43.83 acre campus shared with Herbert Akins Elementary School.

Hidden Valley Amenity Center

A site plan is in review for the Hidden Valley Amenity Center, to be located along the future Fairway Green Drive in the Hidden Valley Subdivision. The amenity center features a pool, clubhouse, dog park, community garden, children’s’ play area, pedestrian trail with 44 parking spaces on 3.75 acres.

Hilltop Animal Hospital

Construction is underway for Hilltop Animal Hospital, located at 3301 N Main Street (Hwy 401) in the Hilltop Crossing Shopping Center. The site includes a 9,483 square foot building with 19 parking spaces on 1.47 acres.

Imperial Self Storage

Construction is underway for Imperial Self Storage, located at 6917 S NC 55 Hwy, near the intersection with Jones Lake Road. The site includes a 37,700 square foot self-storage building on 4.98 acres.

Infinite Self Storage

A site plan is in review for Infinite Self-Storage, to be located at 414 Judd Parkway SW. The site includes a one-story 17,250 square foot storage building and a two-story 90,547 square foot storage building on 14.70 acres.

Lane Dental Plaza Phase 1

Construction is underway for Lane Dental Plaza, located at 1830 N Broad Street (Hwy 55). Phase 1 includes a 4,968 square foot bank building with 17 parking spaces on 8.22 acres.

Latter Day Saints Church

A site plan is in review for Latter Day Saints Church, to be located at 2540 N Broad Street (Hwy 55). The site includes a 17,901 square foot building with 219 parking spaces on 6.84 acres.

Prime Restaurant

A site plan is in review for Prime Restaurant, to be located at 800 N Main Street. The site includes an 8,400 square foot restaurant with 110 parking spaces on 1.84 acres.

Mavis Discount Tire

A site plan is in review for Mavis Discount Tire, to be located at 1259 E Broad Street. The proposed building will be 6,729 square feet with 30 parking spaces on 0.914 acres.

Meadow Bluffs Amenity Center

A site plan is in review for an amenity center in the Meadow Bluffs Subdivision, located off the proposed High Plains Drive. The amenity center features a 600 square foot building with a 1,050 square foot cabana and a pool on 0.32 acres.

Meadowbrook Amenity Center

Construction is underway for an amenity center in the Meadowbrook Subdivision, located at 2520 Delaney Hills Lane. The amenity center features a 1,700 square foot building with a 600 square foot cabana, playground, and pool on 10.31 acres.

Royal Creek Commercial Building #1

A site plan is in review for Royal Creek Commercial Building #1, to be located off Ten Ten Road in the Royal Creek Subdivision. The site includes a 5,200 square foot retail/commercial building with 120 parking spaces on 2.11 acres.

Sam’s Xpress Car Wash

A site plan has been approved for Sam’s Xpress Car Wash, a car wash and vehicle fuel station to be located at 1528 N Main Street (Hwy 401). The proposed building is 4,140 square feet on 2.3 acres.

South Lakes Elementary School

Construction is underway for South Lakes Elementary School, located at 190 SE Fuquay-Varina Parkway. The school will be a part of the Wake County Public School System and includes a 124,110 square foot building and athletic fields on 13.92 acres.

State Employees Credit Union

Construction is underway for a new location of the State Employees Credit Union, located at 9900 Fayetteville Road (Hwy 401), near the Banks Road intersection. The proposed building is 10,000 square feet on 4.69 acres.

Tilghman Industrial

A site plan is in review for Tilghman Industrial, to be located at 1251 NC Hwy 42. Phase 1 of the proposed development includes seven 60’ x 60’ attached industrial units and one 400’ x 200’ industrial building with 172 parking spaces on a portion of the 32.51 acre lot.

Ting Central Office

Construction is complete for the Ting Central Office, located at 525 N Main Street (Hwy 401). The proposed plan utilizes the existing 1,036 square foot building and adds a 564 square foot accessory structure with two parking spaces on 1.42 acres.

Ting Data Center

A site plan is in review for Ting Data Center, located at 2250 Grassland Drive. The proposed building is 15,398 square feet with 44 parking spaces on 2.51 acres.

Varina Gateway Townes Amenity Center

A site plan is in review for an amenity center in the Varina Gateway Townes Subdivision, located off the proposed Sugar Cone Way. The amenity center features a 1,750 square foot club house and pool on 0.53 acres.

Walmart Outparcel

A preliminary subdivision plan is in review for the Walmart Outparcel, located at 1051 E Broad Street. This subdivision plan will separate 1.14 acres from the 19.87 parent tract for future commercial development.

Willow Spring High School

Construction is complete for Willow Spring High School, located at 1704 Old Honeycutt Road. The school, now open and currently serving as the home for Fuquay-Varina High School is 349,207 square feet on 58.50 acres.

Woods at Fayetteville (Formerly Fuquay Retail Outparcel)

A site plan is in review for the Woods at Fayetteville, to be located at 8205 Fayetteville Road (Hwy 401). The site includes a 900 square foot restaurant with 28 parking spaces on 2.54 acres.

Residential Development Projects

Abberly Apartments (Formerly Royal Creek Apartments)

A site plan is in review for Abberly Apartments, to be located near the intersection of Lake Wheeler Road and Ten Ten Road. This multi-family development features 264 units and a club house on 9.76 acres.

Adalyn Place

Construction of homes is underway for Adalyn Place Subdivision, located near the intersection of E Academy Street and SE Judd Parkway. This open space development features 92 single-family lots averaging 7,400 square feet with 7.43 acres of open space on 30.07 acres. The development also includes the extension of both E Academy Street and Bevis Marks Drive.

Adams Vineyards

Construction of homes is underway for Adams Vineyards Subdivision, located near the intersection of NC 42 Hwy and John Adams Road. This open space development features 30 single-family lots averaging 29,664 square feet with 17.37 acres of open space on 42.81 acres.

Arlington Meadows

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Arlington Meadows Subdivision, located at 1401 Angier Road. This open space development features 175 single-family lots averaging 8,324 square feet with 18.23 acres of open space on 61.28 acres.

Ascend Varina Gateway (Formerly Basel Creek Apartments)

A site plan is in review for Ascend Varina Gateway, to be located at 2300 N Broad Street. This planned unit development features a variety of uses including two mixed-use buildings, 12 apartment buildings with 264 units, club house with a pool, dog park and a public greenway on 18.80 acres.

Ashford Townes (Formerly Senter Crossing)

Construction plans have been approved for Ashford Townes Subdivision, to be located at 750 S Judd Parkway. This townhome development features 74 lots with 6.35 acres of open space on 12.38 acres.

Avery Crossing

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Avery Crossing Subdivision, located at 1301 Phelps West Road. This open space development features 56 single-family lots with averaging 7,120 square feet with 4.265 acres of open space on 16.11 acres.

Bent Tree

Construction is underway for Bent Tree Subdivision located at 721 and 911 Fleming Loop Road. Phase 1 features 78 single-family lots averaging 8,500 square feet and Phases 2 and 3 feature 128 single-family lots averaging 8,130 square feet with 36.32 acres of open space on 95.34 acres.

Briar Gate

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Briar Gate Subdivision, located near the intersection of Old Powell Road and Wilbon Road. This open space development features 193 single-family lots averaging 7,497 square feet with 44.73 acres of open space on 74.41 acres.

Brighton Ridge

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Brighton Ridge Subdivision, located near the intersection of Hilltop Needmore Road and Lake Wheeler Road. This open space development features 164 single-family lots averaging 10,300 square feet with 56.49 acres of open space on 104.77 acres.

Broadwell Trace

Construction of homes is underway at Broadwell Trace Subdivision, located at 721 Coley Farm Road. This open space development features 120 single-family lots averaging 6,721 square feet with 16.9 acres of open space on 55.70 acres.

Carolina Gardens

Construction of infrastructure and a model park is underway for Carolina Gardens Subdivision Phases 1-12, located at 9036 Purfoy Road. Phases 1–12 of this open space development feature 492 single-family lots averaging 8,657 square feet with 80.02 acres of open space on 224.77 acres. Construction plans are in review for Phases 19-22 which features 151 single-family lots averaging 8,372 square feet with 28.93 acres of open space on 73.21 acres. Phases 13-18 will include 177 single-family lots averaging 8,356 square feet with 49.48 acres of open space on 85.28 acres.

Cedar Crest

Construction of homes is underway for Cedar Crest Subdivision, located at 6826 Sunset Lake Road, just north of Ballentine Elementary School. This conventional subdivision features 59 single-family lots averaging 12,380 square feet on 22.15 acres.

Copper Pond

Construction of homes is underway for Copper Pond Subdivision, located off Piney Grove Wilbon Road near the intersection of W Academy Street (NC 42 Hwy). Phases 1-2 of this conventional subdivision features 17 single-family averaging 34,721 square feet on 16.59 acres and Phases 3-5 feature 33 single-family lots averaging 23,857 square feet on 30.02 acres.

The Crossings

Construction plans are in review for the Crossings Subdivision infrastructure, to be located at 775 NE Judd Parkway. The form based development features the roadway and utility improvements as well as establishes the lots for future multi-family and commercial development on 14.72 acres.

The Crossings Apartments

A site plan is in review for the Crossings Apartments, to be located at 775 NE Judd Parkway. The multi-family residential development features 336 apartment units in six 4-story buildings, an amenity site with a pool and club house, a greenway, and a community garden on 9.55 acres.

Crown Village

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Crown Village Subdivision, located at 6513 Mims Road. This conventional subdivision features 10 single-family lots averaging 36,200 square feet on 9.23 acres.

Forest Bluff Estates

Construction plans have been approved for Forest Bluff Estates Subdivision, located on N Main Street (Hwy 401), near the intersection with Dwight Rowland Road. This conventional development features 74 single-family lots averaging 13,810 square feet on 30.06 acres.

Geneva

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Geneva Subdivision, located at 1501 Angier Road. This open space development features 452 single-family lots averaging 7,877 square feet with 45.86 acres of open space on 159.22 acres.

Hidden Valley

Construction is underway for Hidden Valley Subdivision, located across multiple parcels that stretch between Purfoy Road and S NC 55 Hwy. This open space development features 505 single-family lots averaging 9,400 square feet with 75.49 acres of open space on 214.69 acres.

Construction plans are in review for Phase one of High Grove Oaks Subdivision, to be located at 3528 Wiltree Drive. This open space development features 199 single-family lots averaging 11,592 square feet with 24.87 acres of open space on 92.53 acres.

A preliminary subdivision plan has been approved for Highridge Subdivision, to be located at 8900 Purfoy Road. This open space development features 78 single-family lots averaging 7,786 square feet with 4.74 acres of open space on 24.89 acres.

Highland Forest

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Highland Forest Subdivision, located at 1455 Bowling Road. This open space development features 90 single-family lots averaging 8,517 square feet with 18.32 acres of open space on 45.16 acres.

Holland Station Townhomes

Construction of homes is underway for Holland Station Townhomes, located at 560 SE Judd Parkway. This townhome development features 110 lots with 6.77 acres of open space on 21.87 acres. The development has access onto Holland Road and will include the extension of Barneswyck Drive.

Johnson Pond

Construction plans are in review for Johnson Pond Subdivision, to be located at 6208 and 6212 Johnson Pond Road. This open space development features 58 single-family lots averaging 8,932 square feet with 6.23 acres of open space on 20.9 acres.

Kennebec Meadows

Construction of homes is underway for Kennebec Meadows Subdivision, located at 6817 Kennebec Road. This conventional subdivision features 49 single-family lots averaging 27,000 square feet on 48.27 acres

Kingston Wood

Construction of homes is underway for Kingston Wood Subdivision, located at 2525 Fleming Road. This conventional development features 13 single-family lots averaging 27,108 square feet on 8.96 acres.

Logan Meadow

Construction of homes is underway for Logan Meadow Subdivision, located at 501 SE Judd Parkway near the intersection of Holland Road. This conventional development features 12 single-family lots averaging 7,400 square feet on 4.64 acres.

Madison Park Apartments

A site plan is in review for Madison Park Apartments, to be located at 9408 Fayetteville Road (US 401), just south of Wake Technical Community College with access onto Fayetteville Rd (Hwy 401) and Ransdell Road. This multi-family residential development features 178 apartment units in four buildings along with two commercial outparcels on 11.86 acres.

Meadow Bluffs

Construction is underway for Meadow Bluffs Subdivision, located at 6021 Johnson Pond Road. Phases 1-2 of this open space development feature 58 single-family lots averaging 8,083 square feet and Phases 3-7 feature 180 single-family homes averaging 8,082 square feet with 35.15 acres of open space on 92.99 acres.

Meadowbrook

Construction is underway for Meadowbrook Subdivision, located at 6600 S NC 55 Hwy. This open space development features 282 single-family lots averaging 13,285 square feet with 45.12 acres of open space on 145.56 acres.

Meyers Place

Construction of homes is underway for Meyers Place Subdivision, located at 6308 Mims Road. This conventional development features 39 single-family lots averaging 35,400 square feet on 56.39 acres.

Midtown Subdivision

A preliminary subdivision plan is in review for Midtown Subdivision, to be located at 313 Railroad Street. This townhome development features 53 lots with 5.54 acres of open space on 10.36 acres.

The Oaks at Kenneth Creek

A preliminary subdivision plan is in review for The Oaks at Kenneth Creek Subdivision, to be located at 1049 Leatherstone Lane. This conventional development features 20 single-family lots averaging 19,891 square feet on 12.68 acres.

Parker Station

Plans are in review for Parker Station Subdivision, to be located at 710 & 910 N Main Street. This form-based development will feature 8 single family lots averaging 6,979 square feet and 125 townhomes with 2.55 acres of open space on 13.03 acres.

Patriot Bluffs

Construction of homes is underway for Patriot Bluffs Subdivision, located at 6428 Johnson Pond Road. Phase 1 of this open space development features 34 single-family lots averaging 7,951 square feet and Phase 2 features 18 single-family lots averaging 7,537 square feet with 4.94 acres of open space on 17.42 acres.

Persimmon Woods

A preliminary subdivision amendment is in review for Persimmon Woods Subdivision, to be located at 1908 W Academy Street (NC 42 Hwy). This amended conventional development will now feature 12 single-family lots averaging 27,793 square feet on 8.62 acres.

Powell Square Apartments

Construction is underway for Powell Square Apartments, located at 2021 N Broad Street (Hwy 55), with an additional access to Old Powell Road. This multi-family residential development will be built in phases and features 384 apartment units in 16 buildings with an amenity center on 26.88 acres.

Raleigh Street Properties

A site plan is in review for the Raleigh Street Properties, to be located at 101, 103 and 109 Raleigh Street, in the DC-1 form based district. The site includes a 4-story building with ground floor retail and office space and upper level apartment units on three floors. The proposed building will be 36,018 square feet with 49 parking spaces on 0.64 acres.

Rowland’s Grant

A preliminary subdivision plan is in review for Rowland’s Grant Subdivision, to be located at 5906 Hilltop Road. This open space development features 232 single-family lots with a minimum lot size of 5,200 square feet with 55.402 acres of open space on 108.329 acres.

Royal Creek

Construction plans have been approved for Royal Creek Subdivision, to be located near the southeast corner of Lake Wheeler Road and Ten Ten Road. The RMU section of this form-based development features 12 single-family lots averaging 6,735 square feet and the NMU section features 44 single-family lots averaging 5,321 square feet and 109 townhome lots with 17.78 acres of open space on 67.7 acres.

The Retreat at Fuquay-Varina

Construction is underway for the Retreat at Fuquay-Varina, located at 800 NE Judd Parkway, across from Products Road. This multi-family development features 432 units, a pool, and a clubhouse on 29.4 acres.

Rutherford

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Rutherford Subdivision, located at 9315 Lake Wheeler Rd. This open space development features 180 single-family lots averaging 8,194 square feet with 17.91 acres of open space on 63.21 acres.

Sara Grove

Construction plans are in review for Sara Grove Subdivision, to be located at 7005 Kennebec Road. This conventional development features nine single-family lots averaging 30,906 square feet on 7.34 acres.

Construction is underway for Summerdale North Subdivision, located on Dawley Drive. This open space development features 26 single-family lots averaging 6,100 square feet with 1.82 acres of open space on 6.7 acres.

Varina Gateway Townes (Formerly Basal Creek)

Construction of infrastructure is underway for Varina Gateway Townes Subdivision  , located at 2314 N Broad Street and 6750 Hilltop Needmore Road. This phase of the planned unit development features 236 townhome lots with 14.78 acres of open space on 67.00 acres.

The Village at Lake Wheeler

Construction plans have been approved for The Village at Lake Wheeler Subdivision, to be located at 8536 Lake Wheeler Road. This open space development features 108 single-family lots averaging 8,700 square feet with 13.10 acres of open space on 45.02 acres.

The Village at Marquee Station Phase IV

A site plan has been approved for an additional apartment building at the Village at Marquee Station, located at 2021 N Main Street (Hwy 401). The additional building features 24 apartment units on 1.05 acres.

Woodland Point

Construction of infrastructure in underway for Woodland Point Subdivision, to be located at 414 SW Judd Parkway. This conventional development features 5 single-family lots on 4.162 acres and will have access onto Sunset Drive.

Woodland Springs

Construction of homes is underway for Woodland Springs Subdivision, located at 1335 Bowling Road. This open space development features 63 single-family lots averaging 7,600 square feet with 14.96 acres of open space on 29.57 acres.

New Businesses & Existing Business Improvements

This is a list of renovations and improvements to existing buildings for new businesses coming to Fuquay-Varina, as well as existing businesses making improvements or expansions.

American Family Care

Renovation is underway for American Family Care, to be located at the former KFC restaurant, 1298 N Main Street.

Aviator Brewery

A site plan is in review for Aviator Brewery, to be located at the former Gold Leaf Tobacco Warehouse property, 609 North Street. The project proposes a 5.22-acre campus featuring a 44,140 square foot brewery and distillery, a retail merchandise store, a full service restaurant and bar, drive through coffee shop and multi-use pavilion on a 0.80 acre green lawn.

Bob Barker

Construction is underway for a parking lot expansion at the existing Bob Barker Facility, located at 7925 Purfoy Road. The expansion adds 122 parking spaces bringing the site total to 241 parking spaces on 43.06 acres.

John Deere Parking Lot Expansion

Construction is underway for an expansion of the parking lot at the John Deere facility, located at 6501 S NC 55 Hwy. The plan includes the expansion of an existing parking lot adding 105 parking spaces.

John Deere New Entrance

A site plan is approved for a new entrance to the John Deere facility, located at 6501 S NC 55 Hwy. The additional entrance off NC Highway 55 will also readjust their parking adding one parking space on 57.18 acres.

Main Street Dance

A site plan is in review for Main Street Dance, to be located at 830 N Main Street. This plan proposes the addition of a 2,400 square foot building adjacent to the existing dance studio building and the expansion and improvement of the existing parking lot yielding 41 parking spaces on 2.09 acres.

Southern Wake Academy Expansion

Construction is complete for an expansion of Southern Wake Academy, located at 5108 Old Powell Road. The expansion includes a carpool loop and physical education field on 9.38 acres adjacent to the school site.

Southview Self-Storage Expansion

An expansion is complete at Southview Self Storage, located at 6008 S NC 55 Hwy. The expansion includes four new buildings totaling 56,000 square feet on 20.09 acres.
