Police and health workers are the front-line soldiers in the war against COVID-19, but this makes them one of the most vulnerable groups as well.

CBS 17 News reported in April that a Raleigh police officer tested positive for the coronavirus. The police district was cleaned and no additional details were provided from authorities.

“Our department works on the front-line ensuring public safety. It is against our policy to disclose the officer’s information,” Public Affairs Manager Donna-Marie Harris told CBS 17 when asked about information regarding the officer.

“We have set out clear guidelines and information regarding protection against the virus for employees as well as the general public, we all must try our best to put a stop to the spread of this virus,” North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mandy Cohen told CBS 17.
