Town of Apex recently issued the following announcement on Mar. 16.
Mayor Signs Declaration of State of Emergency
On March 16th, Apex Mayor Jacques Gilbert signed a document declaring a state of emergency for the Town of Apex in response to COVID-19. This type of document is enacted at the federal, state, county and municipal level as an administrative action that allows maximum flexibility when responding to a rapidly changing situation.
Mayor Gilbert stated in a video posted to his Facebook page that the declaration "Allows the town access to resources and other mutual aid assistance, and enables our leaders and public safety officials to make the best decisions in the interest of our citizens."
