Fuquay-Varina issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.
While the Town of Fuquay-Varina does not have an ordinance that addresses Halloween or days and times for trick or treating, most trick or treaters venture out on October 31st between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. within the Town. This time frame on October 31st is when "most" families participate in the annual activity. We do not recommend later times due to safety and visibility concerns.
As to the questions of "What if Halloween falls on a school night"? The Town does not regulate Halloween and we do not schedule "trick or treating" as a government entity. As a parent, you decide if your children trick or treat on October 31st to those homes that have lights turned on beckoning treaters. If the lights are not visible or if there is a "no trespassing" sign at a particular home, we recommend avoiding that location.
Remember, always be safe and courteous and have LOTS of fun!
Make sure to put the following events on your "Must Do" Fall event list:
Haunted Trail
Saturday, October 19, 5 pm is Family Fright, Full Fright 7-9 pm

Carroll Howard Johnson Park
Parking: There is no parking at Carroll Howard but you can park your car at South Park and ride a shuttle or walk along the Jeff Wells Trail which is a lighted trail.
Family Fright, appropriate for families with younger children, will be from 5-6 pm. Full Fright, which will be scarier, will take place from 7-9 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. The Haunted Trail is free, but please note there will be scary stuff, so enter at your own risk! This is an outdoor activity with low lighting so remember to wear appropriate shoes, preferably tennis shoes and dress for the weather. This event would not be possible without our talented middle and high school volunteers!
