Town of Garner issued the following announcement on Oct. 7.
The Garner Police Department is hosting a medications take-back event on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Police Department, located at 912 7th Ave. The service is free, anonymous and no questions will be asked.
By providing safe and secure ways for people to get rid of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications, Operation Medicine Drop helps prevent accidental poisonings and drug abuse while protecting our waters. Since 2010, over 1000 sites have collected over 106 million dosage units of medication during take-back events statewide.
