The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Marine Fisheries Standard Commercial Fishing License Eligibility Board will hold a meeting by conference call on October 22 at 10:30 a.m. The purpose of the meeting is to review and consider commercial fishing license applications that were completed and submitted by September 24.

Members of the public can listen to the proceedings by dialing 919-212-5733. Attendees are asked to mute their phones and refrain from announcing their names during the call in order to minimize disruptions. An alternative option for listening is available at the department’s Wilmington Regional Office, located at 127 Cardinal Drive Extension in Wilmington.

The board convenes two or three times each year to assess license applications. Those interested in applying for a commercial fishing license can find instructions at https://deq.nc.gov/scfl-eligibility-pool, where they should click on the Eligibility Pool Application link.
