Red Hat has announced that ROSSMANN, a prominent German drugstore chain, is advancing its digital transformation through a hybrid cloud strategy using Microsoft Azure Red Hat OpenShift. This platform allows ROSSMANN to manage and orchestrate applications with enhanced flexibility across both on-premise and cloud infrastructure. The company aims to build a scalable IT infrastructure that promotes continuous innovation while maintaining competitiveness.

Stefan Kroll, Head of IT Operations Strategy & Architecture at ROSSMANN, stated: “With Microsoft Azure Red Hat OpenShift, we have found the ideal platform to efficiently manage our workloads and meet our growing requirements for a resilient infrastructure.”

The decision to use Azure Red Hat OpenShift comes as ROSSMANN faces increased internationalization and rapid growth. The solution provides a consistent and interoperable platform for IT services, optimizing resource utilization and operational efficiency. The native Kubernetes support within Red Hat OpenShift facilitates automation of deployments and scaling processes.

This modern IT infrastructure enables ROSSMANN to adapt more swiftly to challenges while supporting business growth. The hybrid deployment capability allows the company to choose optimal environments based on specific workload needs, ensuring high availability and operational efficiency.

Working with Red Hat, ROSSMANN is also laying the groundwork for strategic initiatives involving AI. By deploying Red Hat OpenShift AI, they aim to advance existing AI projects and explore future AI-driven use cases. According to Gregor von Jagow, Country Manager for Germany at Red Hat: “ROSSMANN relies on powerful cloud technologies to remain competitive in a dynamic market environment.”

Stefan Kroll added: “Our digital transformation requires a flexible and scalable IT architecture… In addition, with the new state-of-the-art technologies, we are also positioning ourselves as a forward-thinking employer in the IT sector.”

ROSSMANN’s reliance on Red Hat OpenShift underscores its commitment to secure and efficient application provisioning.
