Red Hat has announced the launch of its Advanced Developer Suite, a new addition to the Red Hat OpenShift platform. This suite aims to enhance developer productivity and application security while promoting the adoption of Red Hat AI technologies.

“Speed, security and AI innovation should never be mutually exclusive,” said Mike Barrett, vice president of Hybrid Platforms at Red Hat. “We feel by tightly integrating Red Hat Advanced Developer Suite with the rest of the Red Hat portfolio and open source ecosystems we will ensure speed, security and AI innovation are always top of mind.”

The release addresses key priorities in software engineering, as highlighted by a Gartner survey that found integration AI and increasing developer productivity are among the top strategic goals for many departments. The suite offers tools for platform engineering teams to create “golden paths,” which are software templates designed to streamline application delivery with advanced security features.

Key components include:

– **Red Hat Developer Hub**: An internal developer portal built on Backstage offering pre-configured software templates for rapid deployment.
– **Red Hat Trusted Profile Analyzer**: Manages an organization’s software bill of materials (SBOMs) and vulnerabilities.
– **Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer**: Provides cryptographic signing for software artifacts, including AI models.

The suite integrates with existing tools like Red Hat OpenShift Pipelines and GitOps to accelerate application delivery. It also supports integrations with other CI/CD solutions, enhancing developer velocity.

By incorporating advanced supply chain security practices, organizations can integrate these measures into their processes from the start. The suite provides a comprehensive audit trail across environments for risk management.

With AI becoming crucial in business strategy, developers face challenges in integrating it into applications. The suite facilitates this process through its collaboration with Red Hat AI solutions such as Inference Server and RHEL AI.

The availability date for purchase is set for July 1, 2025. The announcement was made during the Red Hat Summit in Boston where attendees can join keynotes discussing enterprise-ready AI innovations.

“We are excited about the release of Red Hat Advanced Developer Suite as it brings together several solutions in a manner that will allow our customers faster use of the technologies,” added Barrett.
