Red Hat announced it has been named a Leader for the third year in a row in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Container Management. The recognition is based on Red Hat OpenShift’s performance in both completeness of vision and ability to execute.
Red Hat OpenShift is a hybrid cloud application platform built on Kubernetes. The company says this platform helps enterprises standardize, automate, and scale their container initiatives across data centers, multiple cloud environments, and edge locations.
Mike Barrett, vice president and general manager of Hybrid Cloud Platforms at Red Hat, said: “We believe being recognized as a Leader for the third consecutive year in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Container Management validates Red Hat OpenShift’s role as a cornerstone for modern IT strategies. Our platform empowers enterprises to standardize, automate and scale their container initiatives across any footprint, from the datacenter to multiple cloud environments, providing the flexibility and control needed to meet evolving business demands.”
The Gartner Magic Quadrant report evaluated 15 vendors using criteria focused on vision and execution. According to Gartner’s methodology, Leaders are those that execute well against their current vision and are positioned well for future developments.
This recognition follows Red Hat’s earlier placement as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Native Application Platforms.
