Red Hat has been named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Native Application Platforms, marking the second consecutive year the company has received this recognition. The evaluation highlighted Red Hat OpenShift, the company’s hybrid cloud application platform powered by Kubernetes, for its completeness of vision and ability to execute.

Mike Barrett, vice president and general manager of Hybrid Cloud Platforms at Red Hat, commented on the achievement: “We believe being recognized as a Leader for a second consecutive year in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Native Application Platforms is a testament to Red Hat OpenShift’s sustained innovation and its critical role in enabling enterprises to navigate the complexities of modern application development. Our commitment to open source and hybrid cloud allows organizations to build, deploy and manage applications with unparalleled consistency and flexibility, wherever their data and operations reside.”

The Gartner Magic Quadrant evaluated 12 vendors based on criteria that measured both vision and execution. According to Gartner, Leaders are those who perform well against their current vision and are positioned strongly for future developments.

Red Hat OpenShift continues to serve as a foundation for enterprise applications across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The platform supports both virtualized and containerized workloads while offering developer tools and integrated security features. This enables organizations to accelerate innovation and support digital transformation initiatives.

OpenShift’s multicloud strategy addresses evolving needs in cloud-native markets, including AI/ML workloads. Its ecosystem integration, security capabilities, and operational consistency have contributed to its position in the industry.
