Red Hat has announced the winners of its APAC Innovation Awards 2025 for Taiwan, honoring LINE Bank Taiwan Limited and Amway Taiwan for their work in leveraging open source technologies to drive innovation and business transformation.

The awards recognize organizations that have used Red Hat’s solutions to adapt to changing customer needs and improve digital capabilities. Marjet Andriesse, senior vice president and general manager, APJC, Red Hat, said, “The pace of change in Asia Pacific shows no signs of slowing, especially as AI becomes a core driver of business transformation. Despite these demands, our customers have delivered remarkable results, showing that innovation thrives when paired with open source. The Red Hat APAC Innovation Awards 2025 are an opportune time to recognize and celebrate these achievements, highlighting how our customers are unlocking what’s next and shaping a future defined by creativity, resilience, and impact.”

LINE Bank Taiwan Limited received the Digital Transformation award. As a digital-only bank with over 2.1 million customers in Taiwan, it implemented the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to improve its core banking infrastructure. This move reduced deployment times from hours to under 15 minutes and helped meet regulatory requirements while enabling operations across different cloud environments. According to Leo Weng, Chief Technology Officer at LINE Bank Taiwan Limited: “We understand that establishing a reliable, secure, scalable, and automated digital foundation is key to delivering digital-native banking services. As a leading bank in Taiwan with more than 2.1 million customers, LINE Bank has worked closely with Red Hat to gain comprehensive support across operating system standardization, application development and management, and automation. Through this collaboration, we have cut deployment time from hours to under 15 minutes while maintaining strong security and compliance. Red Hat’s automation capabilities have also helped boost our team’s productivity by 25%, enabling greater efficiency and faster delivery. This allows us to meet evolving customer needs and continue earning their trust and loyalty.”

Amway Taiwan was recognized in both the Digital Transformation and Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure categories for modernizing its IT systems amid growing cloud costs associated with rapid service expansion on AWS. By adopting Red Hat OpenShift for its on-premises container platform while retaining hybrid cloud flexibility, Amway improved system reliability and security while reducing dependence on costly cloud resources. Harrison Kuo, Technology Director at Amway Taiwan stated: “As one of the largest cloud users in Taiwan, balancing cost efficiency with innovation has been a key priority for us. By adopting Red Hat OpenShift, we successfully modernized our legacy on-premises systems while keeping the flexibility of hybrid cloud architectures. This gives our development team a more agile development environment, effectively reducing cloud spending while continuously delivering reliable, scalable services to meet the fast-changing demands of the market.”

This year’s awards highlighted thirty organizations across Asia Pacific that utilized Red Hat technology in areas such as digital transformation; hybrid cloud infrastructure; cloud-native development; automation; as well as artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.

The companies were recognized for their efforts in using open source solutions from Red Hat—including OpenShift container platform and Ansible Automation Platform—to deliver improved efficiency and create value within their sectors.
