Red Hat, known for its open source solutions, has announced the winners of the Red Hat APAC Innovation Awards 2024 in Taiwan. This year’s awards highlighted the achievements of Nan Shan Life Insurance and Next Commercial Bank, both of which have shown innovative use of Red Hat’s technology to address evolving business challenges.

Marjet Andriesse, Red Hat’s Senior Vice President and General Manager for APJC, emphasized the importance of open source technologies, stating, “Despite the uncertain economic conditions in 2024, we have seen the remarkable milestones achieved by our customers. This year, we want to highlight the innovative strides of these organizations at the Red Hat APAC Innovation Awards 2024 as they leverage advanced technologies to drive business initiatives. Open source remains the key to help organizations uncover what is next and pave the way for success with the right tools and expertise.”

Nan Shan Life Insurance, honored in the categories of Digital Transformation and Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure, has invested heavily in digital and service empowerment. According to Fanny Chan, Vice President of Nan Shan Life Insurance, “Working with Red Hat to introduce the container platform has enabled us to further embrace open source software. This helps us with modernization of the infrastructure, accelerating application development and delivery, enhancing operational efficiency and resource utilization, while strengthening system availability and stability.”

Next Commercial Bank, also recognized in the same categories, has developed its own information system. Director Feng Ming Tsai commented, “Collaborating with Red Hat has been a game-changer for Next Commercial Bank. In the internet finance industry where security and speed are both critical, Red Hat’s solutions have enabled us to bridge the cognitive differences between our infrastructure and development teams.”
