Peach Day is set to be celebrated at the Robert G. Shaw Piedmont Triad Farmers Market in Colfax, North Carolina, on Friday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event highlights the peak season of North Carolina peaches.

During Peach Day, attendees will have the opportunity to sample free peaches and meet the N.C. Peach Queen. Additionally, peach recipes and information will be available for visitors to take home.

“Peach Day is dedicated to one of North Carolina’s favorite summertime fruits,” said Khaila Daye, NCDA&CS peach marketing specialist. “It’s about honoring our N.C. peach growers, enjoying a sweet taste of summer, and bringing shoppers out to experience the local goodness that makes N.C. agriculture the best around.”

North Carolina boasts approximately 1,200 acres of peach orchards primarily located in Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, and Anson counties. Peaches are promoted as a healthy option for snacking or incorporating into various recipes.

The market is situated at 2914 Sandy Ridge Road in Colfax and can be accessed via Exit 208 off Interstate 40. It operates seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. For further details on events and activities, individuals are encouraged to visit the market’s website or follow its Facebook page.
