Beginning November 10, the North Carolina Forest Service is offering a 20% discount on tree seedling orders for active, honorably discharged, or retired military personnel. The promotion runs through the end of November and applies to the first $500 of new orders, with a maximum discount of $100.

“Many veterans and current military members serving to protect our freedoms are also woodland owners who work hard to help keep North Carolina forests healthy and thriving,” said Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. “This discount is one way we can show our appreciation to those who have given so much.”

To receive the discount, eligible individuals must provide proof of service. Acceptable forms include a valid military ID, Department of Defense Form 214/215, or National Guard Bureau Form 22/22A. Standard shipping fees will still be charged. Orders can be placed by calling 1-888-NCTREES or online at www.buynctrees.com.

The North Carolina Forest Service Nursery and Tree Improvement Program supplies state residents with native trees and high-quality genetics for their land. Those interested in checking which species are available can visit the program’s website and use the “current seedling inventory” link at https://www.ncagr.gov/divisions/nc-forest-service/nursery-tree-improvement-program.
