The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission will hold its next meeting on April 15 and 16 at the Town of Ocean Isle Beach, located at 111 Causeway Drive. The commission said members of the public are invited to attend either in person or online.
The agenda includes a field trip to the Ocean Isle Beach Terminal Groin starting at 3 p.m. on April 15. The full commission meeting is set to begin at 9 a.m. on April 16, with an in-person public comment period scheduled for 9:30 a.m. that day. Attendees who wish to speak can sign up upon arrival.
The commission confirmed that the full CRC meeting will be accessible through DEQ’s YouTube channel for those joining remotely. Meeting materials, including the agenda and briefing documents, are available on the CRC website; however, officials noted that individual agenda items may change order during proceedings.
According to information provided by the commission, it establishes policies for North Carolina’s Coastal Management Program and adopts rules for both CAMA and the state’s Dredge and Fill Act. Its responsibilities also include designating areas of environmental concern, adopting rules and policies for coastal development within those areas, and certifying local land use plans.
The upcoming meeting offers an opportunity for community members to engage with coastal policy decisions affecting their region.
