The N.C. State Fair is now accepting applications for its Farm Family of the Day program, which recognizes farm families who contribute to North Carolina’s agriculture industry. The program, sponsored by Tractor Supply Company, is in its fifth year and aims to highlight the importance of agriculture in the state.

Farmers interested in being considered for this recognition can submit nominations or applications through September 5. Eleven families will be selected to represent the agricultural sector during the 2025 N.C. State Fair, which takes place from October 16-26 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

Honorees will receive a gift basket from the N.C. State Fair that includes tickets valid on any day of their choice during the event, ride passes, and items from both Tractor Supply Company and the fair itself.

Applications are available online at https://www.ncagr.gov/public-affairs/tractor-supply-farm-family-day-app… and nomination forms can be found at https://www.ncagr.gov/public-affairs/tractor-supply-farm-family-day-nomination-form/download?attachment.

Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler commented on the significance of the program: “The State Fair’s earliest beginnings sought to elevate the understanding of new agricultural practices and technology. Helping people make the connection between farming and the food that they enjoy is one of our top missions at the N.C. State Fair each year,” said Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. “Thanks to Tractor Supply Company, we can help tell the story of our farmers because they are out there every day working to grow the food, fiber and fuel that we need to survive.”

North Carolina’s agriculture and agribusiness industry generates $111.1 billion annually for the state economy. The annual fair features entertainment, rides, games, animals, competitions, vendors, and food options unique to North Carolina. More information about this year’s event is available at www.ncstatefair.org.
