The N.C. State Fair has announced the return of its “Farm Family of the Day” program for 2025, with Tractor Supply Company again serving as sponsor. The initiative is now in its fifth year and aims to highlight farm families who contribute to North Carolina’s agriculture and agribusiness sector, which generates $111.1 billion annually.

Eleven families were selected after being nominated by relatives or community members for their commitment to farming and their support of the state’s leading industry. Winners were chosen at random from the pool of nominees. Each family will be recognized on a designated day during the 2025 N.C. State Fair, scheduled for October 16-26 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

Honorees will receive public recognition through announcements and signage at the fairgrounds, as well as features on the N.C. State Fair and North Carolina Department Of Agriculture & Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) blogs and social media channels. In addition, each family will receive a prize pack that includes tickets to attend the fair on any day they choose.

The list of honored families includes Barham Family Farms of Wake Forest; Double R Cattle Services of Hillsborough; Ruby Brown Farm LLC of Leicester; Crooked Creek Farm of Stokes County; Ronnie Moore’s Fruits & Veggies of Newton Grove; G.M. Langdon Family Farm LLC of Angier; Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm of Apex; Miracle Farm of Whitakers; E.B. Harris Livestock of Warrenton; Worley Honey Farm of Leicester; and Clapp Farm of Siler City.

“From the start, the State Fair was a platform to promote the understanding of new agricultural practices and technology. Today, one of agriculture’s biggest challenges is helping people make the connection between farming and the food they enjoy,” said N.C. Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. “Farm families tell that story the best because they are out there every day working hard to grow the food, fiber and fuel we need. We look forward to recognizing these eleven farm families at the 2025 N.C. State Fair.”

The fair is described as an event unique to North Carolina that offers free entertainment, rides, games, animal exhibits, competitions, vendors, and food options such as deep-fried specialties. More details about this year’s fair can be found at www.ncstatefair.org.
