The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) Science Panel will hold a web conference on January 29 at 11 a.m. to work on the “Effects of Hard Structures on Coastlines” report. The panel was assigned this task during the CRC’s November 2025 meeting and will use the upcoming session to create an outline for the report, which will be presented to the CRC.
According to the commission, “The CRC Science Panel provides the commission with scientific data and recommendations pertaining to coastal topics.”
The public can listen to the meeting online or by phone. A listening station will also be available at the N.C. Division of Coastal Management headquarters in Morehead City. Those interested in providing feedback can send comments via email with “Science Panel” in the subject line.
The Science Panel is responsible for offering scientific advice on coastal management issues, including alternatives for addressing oceanfront erosion.
